Polyphony Under the Mistletoe

What better time than this holiday season to enjoy beautiful music and warm conversation while promoting the arts and helping bring relief to the lives of children and families who need it the most? Such is the marvellous opportunity offered by the Montreal Polyphonic Choir in partnership with The Lighthouse Children and Families.
The Choir, conducted by its musical director Louis Lavigueur, will present its fourth annual fund-raising concert and cocktail, Polyphonie sous le gui, on Sunday December 9, 2012 at 4 p.m. This event will take place at the Concert Hall of the Montreal Conservatory of Music, 4750 Henri Julien Street. The Choir has decided to maintain its partnership with The Lighthouse Children and Families, an organization that contributes to the well-being of children requiring complex medical care while providing supportive care to their families. The Choir will be accompanied by musicians of theOrchestre symphonique des jeunes de Montréal, and by soprano Jana Miller, mezzo Kristin Hoff, tenor Lucas van Lierop and baritone Philip Kalmanovitch.
The program will feature Part 1 of Handel's Messiah, a perennial Christmas favourite relating the birth of Christ. It will be followed by a cocktail.
The funds raised will help the Choir pursue its musical activities while contributing to support the Lighthouse Children and Families. Tickets cost $100, including both the concert and cocktail. For information or to obtain tickets, please call 450-689-6009.
